The search for affordable courier service is rather like Samuel
Beckett's play, "Waiting for Godot". We are all
anticipating it but just not sure when it will come. Right now most
of us have found media mail to still be our cheapest option. The Commission
for libraries has been investigating possibilities but this is a tough problem
with the large distances and the cost of gas climbing towards $4 a gallon.
Maybe the answer is that if we wait long enough we won't have to move books
around.

Has there been any discussion lately about contracting with a courier for the consortium for ILLs?
Also, I see that almost half the libraries in the consortium are participating in LiLI Express. We've been investigating the possibility of joining, and I was wondering if the other LCEI libraries have thought about it, discussed it, dismissed it, and for what reasons?
Thanks!
